The power of the bull
The bull reflects the story of the world-famous Hungarian Bull’s Blood wine. According to legend, before the fight against the Turks, the Hungarian women put bull’s blood into their men’s wine. That led to the victory, even though the Turkish army was overwhelmingly larger. The sculpture of the bull therefore radiates invincibility. But at the same time that invincibility is again counterbalanced by the vulnerability expressed in the deep carving bending and twisting into the sculpture.
